Images from the Fantasy Faire

Today is the last day of the Fantasy Faire 2010. If anybody has not visited it yet I'd like to invite all to do it, because it is a great event and it is part of the Relay for Life season in SL. It is difficult to choose among 9 sims and little time left what to choose, so here are some images of the fair. I have already covered the Sector SciFi sim in a previous post. Here are the others:

the Redesign of Aurora Town

Aurora Town, my home away from home on mainland, where I have been an happy resident for the last 2 and a half years , is undergoing a major redesign. Forest and threehouses are are appearing all over and the feeling when walking there is just great !





Under the skilled hand of Scootie Gearbox an all new Aurora Town is appearing and I must say that I love what I see!



The work is still in prograss and I look forward to see it completed

Na'veenies !

Well .. when in my previous post I mentioned a clear Avatar-mania I did not expect to see also a tiny Na'vi !

Avatar (the movie) themed

Avatar is surely the dominating theme in this year's Fantasy Faire. In almost every themed sim I have visited so far, whether elven or fairy or sci-fi, there are shops that display Avatar inspired merchandising.



The place where you can get this feeling is surely the Sector Sci-Fi, the one that is dedicated to more classical Sci-fi themes. Where last year this area was a very high tech one, full of laserbeams and starships, this year the area is a small replica of the moon Pandora.

You can see home trees, forests where the blues and the purples are mixed with the greens, floating islands and of course a lot of Na'vi avatars (in the SL sense :) ) and skins.

The overall feeling is quite nice, even if I missed more classical SciFi themes here and there.

But it can always happen to see an Enterprise starship in front of a floating island :))

The Fantasy Fair is underway and it is keeping its promises and so far it has been great fun to walk around the different themed sims.

Here are a few images from the wonderful Fireshow of the ChangHigh Trinity Sisters I attended a couple of days ago at the center stage. The show is really wonderful and you can go to the Auction Area and bid to win a personal performance.

Remembering

Yesterday was the Day of Remembrance in SL, so I paid a visit to the Linden Memorial Park , and in particular to the garden where it is possible to plant a flower dedicated to the friends we met in SL and who are gone.

I must say that it is a very emotional moment. The first time I was there, two years ago, it was possible to read the name os the avies associated to each flowers. Now they are so many that it is very difficult to make one name apart from the others, and yet one gets a glimpse of typical avatar names and realizes how many of them are gone.

It is a place filled with emotions and a visit there is surely worth

the Home Expo

The Home, Garden and Patio Expo has been going on for the past week and it last until tomorrow. In this Relay for Life related event some of the very best creators of SL display their work, being them home, furniture, garden related things, flowers and plants, etc.
