Fleet Week ShipBuilders Awards


It has been a terrific exhibit and everybody deserved to be a winner. Many difficult decision and the voting has been spread on very many names.

Here are the results:



Submarine Class



A battle to the last vote between Jenne Dibou’s Barracuda and Ford Denja’s Leviathon. Both have collected also votes for best overall ship of the Fleet Week and were clearly very much loved.

At the end … for just one vote ...

  • Jenne Dibou’s Barracuda gets the shipbuilder’s award
  • Ford Denja’s Leviathon gets a well deserved Honorable mention


Airship Class



Jenne had surely a great fleet week because …

  • Jenne Dibou’s MTF Baloon wins the Shipbuilders Award
  • Lexx Bondard’s Airship Aurora get a honorable mention



Ironclads and Steamers



A most fought class … many vessels got votes and many more deserved to be awarded. But at the end one came on top and …

  • Sidney Arctor’s Monitor gets the Shipbuilder Award

Honorable mentions go to
  • Loken Jewell’s Stingray … this little terrific boat stole the show after the performance at the ironclad battle
  • Aeolus Cleanslate’s Clockwinder’s Postulate





Sailship Class



This class saw three ships coming with the same number of votes, while a fourth builder got more votes than the others but spread on many ships, so four honorable mentions are awarded :

  • Marcel Ghostraven for his Golden Dragon
  • Razi Soyinka for Drakwenwerke Alliance Class Frigate
  • Mean Martina (Martina Lawsey) for her Black Pearl
  • and Evvva Viper for her Grand Galleon, Goelette and Schebeq



and at the end of the day ...

The overall Shipbuilder’s Award in the Third Fleet Week of the Steamlands goes to ….

2011 Fleet Week of the Steamlands


SUNDAY NOVEMBER 13


* Shipbuilders' Expo and Shipbuilding Contest Begins


>> Shipbuilders offering nautical vessels and supplies from the Age of Sails, the Age of Steam and and the Age the Never Was will have displays along the piers and wharves of Winterfell Absinthe and Winterfell Laudanum, offering their wares to the Public.
The best vessels will be awarded trophies, and the public may vote on their favorites throughout the week.

* Exhibit of Naval Art Begins


>> An exhibit of naval themed pictures will take place at the Bright Star Gallery in Winterfell Laudanum

* Fleet Week Opening Ceremonies, 1-3 PM SLT


>> Dancing Around the Fleet  - the Fleet Week HQ at En Garden Island in Winterfell Anodyne
Grand opening of the week with a party at En-Garden Island, Headquarter of the Fleet Week Activities
A semi-formal party where Steamlanders and friends can get ready for a week of fun and competitions

>> An epic naval skirmish fea8turing the navies of the steamlands, slugging it out on the open ocean. Rumor has it that pirates and other mercenaries may be in attendance as well, although reports of mer-creatures trying to sabotage the proceedings are obviously untrue...

>> The state-based navies of the Steamlands, in their finest regalia, proceed on a course taking them past reviewing stands on the outskirts of the Fleet Week Sailing Field (Winterfell Libris, Winterfell Undertow). The Public is invited to attend at the HQ at En Garden Island in Winterfell Anodyne

* NEW TOULOUSE BALL, 3 PM SLT


>> The Community of New Toulouse will host a Ball to relax after the fleet review in their Winterfell Embassy

* Windjammer Race, 12PM SLT.


>> Tall ships and wind-powered vessels to compete in this yachting race around the sailing field, before cheering crowds gathered on viewing stands. Trophies will be on hand for the winners.
SL wind powered class and non-SL wind powered class will compete in different events
the Fleet Week Sail Field : Winterfell Libris, Winterfell Undertow - HQ at En Garden Island in Winterfell Anodyne
Competitors are invited to test the race field in the days before the event

* Submarine Races, 2PM SLT.


>> The finest submariners - and their daring mechanical marvels - will line up to compete against each other in this underwater tournament. The Public won’t want to miss this epic event grid-wide famous for its underwater dirty tricks. Appropriate dress is encouraged.

* Uniform Ball at Piermont Landing , 6PM SLT.


>> The public is invited to attend a inter-Steamland nautical-themed Ball hosted by Breezy Carver at Piermont Landing in New Babbage. Naval uniforms for officers and sailors are encouraged. Shipbuilding awards and race winners will be honored.
